Hello and welcome to Onward! A Rose City Podcast. This is episode 102, recorded on August 28, 2025 and this is Brian. In Thorns News, on August 23rd the Thorns announced that they have acquired French international forward Julie Dufour through the 2027 season and a 2025 international roster slot in the trade with Angel City FC. On August 23rd the Timbers faced off against San Diego FC for the first time and the Timbers earned a point on the road with a scoreless draw against the Western Conference leaders. The match marked the Timber seventh clean sheet of the season and fifth on the road, matching the club single season record set in 2015. What a great year to match records in huh? The shutout was also James Pantemis’ fourth shutout of the year. All three of the Timbers new signings played in this match. In the end, this result was good for the Timbers. Staying toe to toe with the conference leaders is a big step forward for the club. Let's just hope this momentum keeps building up. Next for the Timbers is a trip to Minnesota to face the Loons on Saturday. For Timbers2, T2 earned three points with a 2-1 victory over Tacoma Defiance at Providence park on Saturday, August 24th. T2's Noah Santos opened the scoring just five minutes into the first half and Kyle Linhares’ 64th minute strike proved to be the eventual game winner over their Cascadian rivals. Linhares’ goal and assist on the night puts him in the team lead in both categories with eight goals and five assists on the season. T2 swept their Cascadian rival Tacoma Defiance this season, winning all three encounters with a combined scoreline of six. 3. San Antonio FC announced on Wednesday that the club had signed forward Kyle Linhares. The transaction is pending league and federation approval and per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. I'm not sure what to think Timbers prime one day.
